.::NEWS::.

Well...as some of you know my computer has kicked the bucket for the most part. I need to reformat it to get these viruses off. Hopefully tomorrow, one of my old friends from my days as a student for Computer networking, Jack, will be helping me out with this.
I missed out on our "Art Stop" here in DSM, but have the info to be a part of it for next year.

Computer Fried just in time for 1st booth

Journal Entry: Wed Sep 3, 2008, 3:40 PM
Yeah, you read that right.
I'm pissed. I'm beyond pissed I am controlled.

You see, I didn't do anything to bring this hellish virus that even runs my NEW comp at full capacity when I'm not connected to the net.

A so called friend was over as a guest of someone else and while I was going to bed to babysit for another friend in the morning....they decided to use my computer and someone else allowed it to happen.

My new computer I haven't even paid for yet, is F*CKED.

So needless to say, I know I have been very infrequent on here recently setting up and prepping for this booth I am going to have at the festival, and I thought I was going to get released from that....other than editing my journals to match and the links to work...I was ready.

On the up side, Monty and I have an appt. to look at a 1 bedroom we are willing to try to throw down the deposit on immediately to get our own place.
Now I am back to square 1.

Now!!!

I apologize for not being around lately. I have been very busy trying to get together my catalog and pieces for a couple of art festivals I will be taking part of coming up these next couple months.
Kinda been doing the whole upload and go thing and figured I better let my dA friends know what I am up to.

I will have a booth at the Beaverdale Fall Festival with my digital art and other selected pieces for sale. It's a rain or shine event and I hear that they have had upwards of 10,000 people show up for the parade and stick around for the booths. With any luck, I might make a buck or 2. :D

There is another Art festival I will be partaking in on October 4th. I do not know the location at this time or any other information other than I was asked to be there. It's being thrown together by Larry Hahn, the owner of Liberty Gifts (Where you can purchase some of my prints) and a few of his friends. If you are interested in this (that means you Judd) event and being a part of it, hit me up and I will be happy to pass along Larry's info or you can call him yourself at Liberty Gifts in Des Moines. Tell him Judy sent ya!
(it's only $25 registration fee, that's nothing!)

I also will be donating a 10x10 "Red 1" matted piece to benefit the AIDs project of Iowa. They will be having a silent auction in October, the deadline for donations is September 24th. If you want to get your name out there as an artist and want to donate a piece to a good cause. Hit me up and I will be happy to pass along the info!

So, as you can see, I have been working on many many things outside of dA, yet dA related. I am also starting my own portrait business in conjunction with my art pieces. I have my sales tax id and everything!! whee!! (btw you will need a tax id for the Beaverdale Fall Festival if you intend to sell products).

On another note, "Will Smith" the replacement kitten we picked out as the replacement kitty for the replacement kitten to Tonto, died. So that makes 2 kittens we had picked out to fill the hole left in our hearts from Tonto's sudden death that also died. We are no longer interested in getting another kitten. Also, Monty's family dog (his "brother") Shadow, was put down about a week ago...go give Monty some love about it..between this and all the kittens, he needs it.

Miss you all email me if you want to get in touch with me and I haven't responded on dA!

Ok, so my birthday didn't quite work out like expected. But that is all ok. I ended up spending the day with Kristin and Lysa, then the evening with Monty. We watched the opening Olympic Ceremonies which was perfect to me. I adore the Olympics and what it represents. I believe China did a very good job in trying to promote their ideology of a harmonious society. I cried at least 3 times during the ceremony it was so beautifully executed.

Unfortunately, it has been clouded over by the war Russia and Georgia are involved in at this time and the stabbings of an American family. My heart goes out to the family of the Bachman's and to the entire Olympic Volleyball team, as this will effect their play.

I am so very disappointed that our world cannot for the period of 17 days out of every 4 years come together to celebrate our lives and cultures. I hope that one day, there will be a time when the ideology of one society being harmonius will be a reality. Sadly, I don't know how this could be accomplished.
